Antique Jaguar Autos

Antique Jaguar autos were basically a product line of the Jaguar Cars Ltd. The company was part of the larger Ford group until the Tata Motors Company bid for the same and won the bid in 2008. The Jaguar Company was launched as early as 1922. Most of the models that come out of this stable have been sports and luxury saloons that have won a fair amount of accolades for their style, sporty look and elegance. See Antique Autos. Antique Jaguar autos are also therefore known for these specific characteristics and value that the manufacturer has to offer. The Jaguar company started production before the war and some of the earlier antique Jaguar autos have a capacity of 1.5, 2.5 and 3.5 liters. The better looking models came after the war and are basically known as the Mark V models. These new models also had front suspension and hydraulic brakes. The image of the Jaguar models starte shaping with the introduction of the XK120 in 1948. Given that it was the first sports car by the company, it started to give the company an image, well supported by the emblem of the Jaguar animal. The range of Mark VII cars was designed for the American market and found great success. The Mark I saloon introduced in 1955 was the first unibody car. Based on the various models that the company introduced, antique Jaguar autos are today known for their elegant sport looks and power engineering. Some of the sports models that find special mention are the 1937 Jaguar SS 100, Jaguar Mark V Drophead Coupe, Jaguar Saloon and Jaguar XK120 Roadster.

Jaguar XK120
This model from Jaguar was a sports model manufactured between 1948 and 1954. It was available in roadster, coupe and drop head coupe body styles. The roadster version of the now antique Jaguar autos was especially popular at that time with many Hollywood stars and therefore these antique Jaguar autos are fairly sought after possessions even today.

Jaguar XK140
This model, also a sports one, was the upgraded version of the Jaguar XK120 and was in circulation from 1954 to 1957. It was followed by the XK150. It had better brakes, steering and better shock absorbers. These antique Jaguar autos were available on roadster, convertible and coupe body styles and had automatic transmission.

Jaguar XK150
These antique Jaguar autos replaced the Jaguar XK140 in 1957 and were in the marketplace till 1961. The body styles were fixed head coupe and drop head coupe. Later the roadster version was also introduced. This was one of the first cars to have a wide range of color offerings. The interiors were a class above from the rest.

Jaguar E type or XK-E
A sports car that can actually match up to the aerodynamic models of today, the Jaguar E type or XK-E had high performance, good looks backed by competitive pricing. These antique Jaguar autos found mention in the top 100 most beautiful cars and were rankedĀ 1 by the Sports Car International magazine.
